Baking Update Wednesday, Jun 24 2009

Just a quick update… :-)

I meant to take pictures today, but just as I started in on the baking both of the boys woke up. So amidst the baking and taking care of the boys, the picture taking didn’t quite get done. However, I did make everything on my list with the exception of the breakfast burritos since the potatoes I was planning on using had been in the refrigerator for an indefinite amount of time and I wasn’t sure if they would be safe to use. :-)

So now my freezer is getting full with the makings of some good meals….it feels good… :-)

Baking Day :-) Wednesday, Jun 24 2009

I had been thinking recently that I needed to have a baking day and make some things to put in my freezer to make breakfasts and snacks easier during the week. So when Crystal mentioned that she was doing a baking day yesterday and invited others to join with her I thought it was a great idea! It got me in the baking mood to know that others would be busy in their kitchens at the same time I was! :-) However, due to a water pipe breaking and not having any water yesterday from around 9:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the evening I was unable to actually get any baking done. So…today I will be cooking on my own. :-)

This is what I hope to get accomplished today….

1. Breakfast Burritos
2. Pizza Bagels
3. Ground Beef Chimichangas
4. Taco Meat

Homekeeping

Sometimes it is hard to find motivation to be a diligent worker during the day as a home maker. This post gives some great tips on how to find the motivation. :-)

Who/what do our homes reflect? Ourselves? Our family? Christ? This post is a reminder of what the focus of our homes should be.

This post is an encouragement to make life special for our families now instead of waiting for a less hectic and busy time.

Toddler Fun

This post has some great ideas for fun activities for toddlers…some are just for fun and others encourage them to learn as they play. It will be fun to try some of these with Drew. :-)

Children

How do we talk about our children? This post is a good reminder that what we say about them will impact our children.

Child Training

Family Outreach Ideas – This post shares some great ideas on ministry that can be done as a family, even if you have smaller children. What really impressed me though was her reminder that ministry can be done anytime and anywhere. You just need to keep your eyes open. :-)

Fruits and Veggies Thursday, May 28 2009

IMG_0135

I’ve enjoyed buying and eating different varietes of fruits and vegetables. It’s sometimes hard to take the extra effort required to make some side dishes to go with dinner. By the time evening gets here, I’m ready to just be in and out of the kitchen! :-) But I’m starting to really enjoy fruits and vegetables with my dinner. :-)

So for dinner last night I fixed…

Hot Hoagies
Watermelon
Blackberries
Corn

It was all very delicous!! :-)
